After 10 years, Regina Spektor returned to Phoenix, Az on a small and limited month-long solo tour. Stopping at The Celebrity Theater, Spektor took the stage to a packed house full of what some consider to be the most die hard fans in the industry. The decade long wait was well worth it to all; after a rapturous applause welcoming Spektor to the venue, a pin drop could be heard throughout the venue as Spektor in turn addressed the crowd. Recovering from a week-long bout with bronchitis, Spektor assured the crowd that stepping out into the center of such a “circle of love” (Celebrity Theatre is a theater-in-the-round) would surely extinguish any last remnants that the “tinctures and potions” and rest did not. As she sat down at her spot-lit piano, a hush of anticipation fell upon the crowd as Spektor launched into what would become a glorious and heartfelt two hour set. The evening consisted of many tracks from her deep back catalog, including fan favorites “Samson”, “Us”, “Eet”, “Hotel Song”, and “On The Radio”, as well as multiple songs off of her newest album, “Remember Us To Life”, including “Grand Hotel,” “Black and White”, and “Tornadoland”. Regina Spektor is on tour throughout the US for the next month. Complete tour dates can be found on her website, and this intimate solo tour is not one to be missed.
