Despite breaking down somewhere in the Arizona desert (where tour vans notoriously go to die), Murder by Death plowed on ahead into Phoenix, Az. They brought their brand of whiskey and cello fueled indie rock, as well as opening act Rocky Votolato, to Crescent Ballroom. Adam Turla, Sarah Balliet, and the rest of the Indiana based 5-piece played selections from their latest album Big Dark Love, and combined them with songs off of nearly their entire back catalog. Playing for nearly two hours, and even hinting at a special New Years Eve show later this year, Murder By Death kept the crowd singing, dancing, and cheering along the entire show. MBD recently funded Big Dark Love via Kickstarter, and signed to Chicago based indie-rock label Bloodshot Records.
