In what turned out to be one of the best sets of the night, Danish Metal band Volbeat made a stop at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA; in support of Gigantour 2012. Volbeat has been gaining a huge fan base in the U.S. and staying true to their Euro-Metal roots. I hadn’t heard much of Volbeat before but what I had heard of them, I really enjoyed. But what really got me hooked was their live set as the band was full of energy, keeping the packed crowd at the ShoWare Center happy. The biggest surprise of the night was when they covered Slayer’sRaining Blood; which I would normally say don’t even try covering Slayer. But I was really impressed as they were able to pull it off with flying colors. The band is currently touring throughout the year, On a side note Mercyful Fate guitarist Hank Sherman filled in as guest guitarist as former guitarist Thomas Bredahl parted ways with the band last year.
